I'm hoping she chose to do this on a live stream to force some accountability on herself to leave for good. I did something similar with my ex, letting friends know what was going on with me so that if I was tempted to go back they would keep me accountable as to why that was a horrible idea. It's kind of like a public burning of the bridge, if that makes sense.

I mean. Being in an abusive relationship does tend to fuck people in the head and convince themselves to stay even when all logic would say they shouldn't. I think that is true of both men and women in such relationships. Telling someone about what is happening to you is one of the first things they advise abuse victims to do.

I have zero reason to believe she's choosing to tell the truth now. This is the smart move, to wait to make judgement. I'm definitely voting with my heart over this one, and maybe I'm entirely wrong. But when I saw the dent in the wall and heard her quote him, "I didn't throw it AT you. I threw it NEAR you," that was something I heard almost word-for-word myself once upon a time, so it made an impact, along with the incessant text messages threatening to ruin her shit if she didn't pick up RIGHT THEN.
