       Friends are Seagate HDDs ok still? Looking at the 8tb barracuda for use at church. Don't want to get anything flaky that'll cause problems down the road.It's just going to be used for storage (but not NAS).

       @Crux_Invictus is good?BTW are you really need to store more than 1TB single file in that 8TB HDD?If not then just a buy some 1TB HDD (1TB x 8 if you really need to store around 8TB in total)Because if you just buying a single 8TB HDD and that HDD got a problem (ex: bad sector) when you already store a ton important of files, you will get into really big trouble bro.

       @drfaustz I think we'll need the capacity in the future as we deal with a fair amount of video. If we had the money I'd be going for a NAS but I've got to work with what we've got. Which is one of those small form factor boxes with space for one HDD.

       @Crux_Invictus I don't follow computer hardware that closely, but I don't think Seagate's reputation has recovered. Their products might though, so I can't say for sure.Personally I use Toshiba for HDDs and Samsung for SSDs.

       @Crux_Invictus I think you should just buy 1TB HDD, add buy more 1TB HDD if you need an extra storage.It's so cheap, and much more efficient than just buying a single 8TB HDD bro.

       @drfaustz I think it's got either a 1 or 2tb HDD in there already, I might open it up and see if there's room for another. You and @Jens_Rasmussen have given me a bit to think about though.Also going to have to work out what church wants to keep and what I can just get rid off. Or move onto an external HDD or DVD.
