The whole doll/robot hypothesis should be the easiest thing in the world to disprove and instead they’re focusing on what the dolls DON’T have, instead of what the women do. I didn't think it was a big deal but because we have each other we can kind of tag team and each play to our strengths while avoiding the things we hate. He doesn't really ever go to the shops any more, and social plans just happen, and he says he wants something and it appears a week later. The stuff he finds tedious and frustrating either falls off his radar because I'm doing it or it gets made a lot easier. If you leave a guy alone he’ll live like an island, he’ll grow weirder as he expands his dominion of self across his property, he’ll accumulate weird habits, hobbies, and develop inscrutable behaviors because he has no one there to remind him that other humans exist and may not react positively to such developments. Likewise, women will contort themselves into impossible levels of suffering to feel at home in the collective, they naturally lean into acceptance by the group as a survival strategy, endearing themselves to the tribe as a way of life. Having a man there - an actual man with the strength to defend her - provide a spine, a backstop that allows her to limit that behavior since she doesn’t have to ingratiate herself to them with her survival assured. Men and women need each other for a complete life. We need children for a complete life, need to engage in the fundamentally sacred act of creation and grow into the fullest stature of our own souls as we give of ourselves to nourish our children. Yes, we can do with out and remain bachelors forever, but that route invariably, irrevocably shuts off an avenue of growth and spiritual fulfillment to you and countless would-be descendants. If you feel that’s an acceptable trade, then I can’t blame you, because my way is certainly much riskier.

He can open his own plumbing business, specialise in a particular kind of plumbing and/or do high end contract or FIFO work and make bank if he wants, whereas salaried work is capped surprisingly low and is a dead end career wise. A guy who's 45 and works as a salaried plumber in a business where he isn't seeing large performance bonuses, owns some part of the business or doesn't do side hustles is leaving enormous amounts of money on the table, not to mention the flexibility and working conditions that come with higher end roles. That speaks to character. It's different if you're still getting that experience but even if you're new to the industry your future planning speaks to your ambition and work ethic.
