American Beauty and American Psycho are candidates for the list, but I haven’t seen either in something like a decade so I will need to watch them.The Big Short is an honorary mention, though is too conventional / mainstream to quite merit the list. I think American Beauty and Fight Club will tell you enough about consumerism; you don’t need the stuff about credit default swaps and CDOs.

He covers his career spanning WW2, Vietnam, Cuban missle crisis, and more. Incredible insider details and historical context. Editing and direction is flawless. I consider it mandatory.
