@mike what's the use case? Are you looking to connect to a device from anywhere or do you need access to servers in a rack?

@mike I use one of these: https://store.level1techs.com/products/14-kvm-switch-dual-monitor-2computer but I need all the Hz's for my monitors. If you just need bare minimum pikvm totally works as well.

@rapidscampi Neither. Much more mundane. I have a keyboard/monitor/mouse config I'd like to share between some desktop computers and my Steam Deck. It's a 32" 4K monitor though, so I'd like to make sure whatever I get can cover that.

@mike you can pick them up for next to nothing on ebay. I'd get something like this:https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/134256128568

@mike I've been using the same IOGEAR Miniview for about 15 years. (4-computer, HDMI) There's a lot of options around HDMI, DVI, DisplayPort. I've had good luck with HDMI-to-DVI and -to-DP adapters with it.

@mike I know you've asked for a hardware KVM, but have you considered "Barrier"? https://github.com/debauchee/barrierIt is the open source continuation of Symless' Synergy when they went closed source @rapidscampi

@mike I’ve been very happy with mine from level1 tech. I have the « 1.4 Display Port KVM Switch - Dual Monitor - Four Computer » model. Probably overkill though

@mike Years ago I ordered a KVM switch from Tigerdirect.com I used it to run two computers with one keyboard, mouse and monitor. I could hit a button and toggle back between the machines. I'm not sure if this is what you speak of, but thought worth a mention. It worked well for me. Details: Item #A225-1372 IOGEAR 2-Port USB KVM Switch w/ Cables and Remote - 2 Ports, Video Resolution 2048 x 1536, D-Sub, USB, Plug-n-Play Monitor Support - GCS22UMPN: GCS22U
