Their comparison makes them look superior for anyone who wants privacy, E2EE, and open source financed through app sales. https://threema.ch/en/messenger-comparisonHaven't tried it yet, but their claims are significant and nice progress for users if true.

Somebody else said #Threema is paid. Is that true? If so it's a strange model to have #FOSS software be paid yet not necessarily #freeware.When it comes to #E2EE chat apps I generally only recommend #Matrix via #FluffyChat, or #Tox

@realcaseyrollins@social.teci.world @basedot @realcaseyrollins@social.freetalklive.com #P2P is great, but is has few technical problems:* P2P works when both #users are #online;* P2P is difficult for inexperienced users;* P2P requires to open a port on #firewall, and if this port is not listened 24x7 it is unsafe;* when P2P is used on a notebook or phone, battery charge goes low much quicker.
