Native English speakers, does this part make any sense to you? It doesn't to me, and I feel annoyed by it. https://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/motionlessinwhite/porcelain.html

To clarify, I'm not asking for explanation of the metaphorical meaning. Just the bare word combination.

@comrade_lecter i think maybe its like: i howled, a wrecking ball, and you were porcelain. as in i howled and i was also a wrecking ball.

@comrade_lecter i don't, can't elaborate therefore. its lyrics are hard to find, but maybe there's some veiled metaphor there

@comrade_lecter they have the same narrative, according to the authoralthough he apparently compares himself to the destructive force that destroyed the fragile porcelain, i think? "I howled (again) and destroyed you just as the wrecking ball destroys the porcelain"

@weixi I mean, I get the metaphorical meaning. I don't get the literal. I don't know if "howling a wrecking ball" is an action you can do in English. From the responses I get that the answer is probably "no".

@comrade_lecter @weixi In a literal sense, no you can't actually howl a wrecking ball, your vocal chords can't create a physical object lol. But as a poetic expression it makes perfect sense to me. I mean raining cats and dogs isn't possible in a literal sense either. The metaphorical meaning is all it's supposed to have. It actually makes more sense than a lot of actual English slang, lol

@comrade_lecter It actually does make sense to me, and a phrase like "shouted a storm" would probably make sense to most native english speakers. And this is just swapping synonyms

@miamiautumn I figured now, I guess I'm just a bit too literal.
