       What’s yall’s experience with masto.host? I’m thinking of having a go at hosting a small host for myself and maybe a few friends, but dreading the chore of server infrastructure maintenance.

       @brunoph I oppose it on ideological grounds (it’s it really decentralized if a bunch of instances are hosted by the same provider?) but it’s good if you don’t want to do any sysadmin work, and I don’t begrudge that

       @shadowfacts I think this is a 100% valid point. Ultimately tho wouldn’t it be mostly the same as if I were hosting it myself on a digital ocean vps?

       @brunoph I feel like that’s different because a server provider is just giving you access no a machine rather than administering your softwareA server provider seems a lot less likely to go under(granted DO is VC-funded, so who knows)
