@Binkle @josh @Godcast Those are stickers/achievements on GitHub, where most open source tech projects reside.As with any big tech company, GitHub is infested with trannies and soyfags and with every passing year, becomes more gay.At some point, they even had discussion and made changes to branching, because the industry standard up to that point was the use of 'master' for the main branch. Ofc this was problematic because nogs or whatever so yeah.If you're not into tech, what I said may sound like gibberish, but I hope i conveyed some info.

@Binkle @Godcast @estate @josh Yes. It encourages clout seekers and discourages talented people from participating. You can just tick boxes to show competency like getting scout badges when the achievements are worthless. There is a growing group of "bros" who get into computer tech for the large paycheck and methodically game the system to max their income. They would have been the VPs at investment companies a few decades ago.

@Epoch @josh I have a decades good old SVN server via SSH that eventually got migrated to use GIT. No web shenanigans required, commits, merge and revisions require only pure console work. Not that it is hard or anything, I do not consider it notable in any way shape or form, however it separates the chaff from the wheat very quickly. 😂
