I was just thinking about this, while I was reading an article on a #news website. Is there any #fediverse #blog #software so when you post a blog it posts a summary to the fediverse?Or even software for users to comment on your blog site that connects to the fediverse?

@ozoned That's what I did for my blog. The link isn't made automatically but once I write an announcement post on the fedi, I can use the link to the toot to open a comment section (and then, the comments is just the stream of public toots answering the original announcement).See https://nanika.marvid.fr/articles/Vite%20fait%20bien%20fait.html for an example (you want the "Réactions" section at the bottom of the page). Currently the JS script doing the link is hard-wired to my static blog generator but I'm thinking of moving it outside as an independant library.

Looks like @writefreely and @PlumeDev are options for blogging software.But what about just a comment software that hooks to the fedi? I know Disqus does comments, but they're proprietary.

@alice Oh that's awesome! Yeah that's kind of what I was thinking, but also if someone doesn't have/want a Fedi account they could also just do like an anonymous comment and it'll be stored there. Though anon commenters can obviously abuse it. But yeah, I find that super cool. I just feel like the Fediverse offers something that no company can/wants to offer and that's connectivity to ALL platforms. Thanks for showing that off! 😄

@ozoned Thanks a lot for your feedback ! Yeah, there’s still the problem of anonymous comments… I thought the fediverse worked well as an identity provider but yeah, it’s still a limit. The idea was to completely leave moderation to fediverse admin considerations. In any case, if you want to peek at the code it’s in Metadata.js because the link to a particular comment is a metadata of the blog post and hence the code handling it was added as extra functions in that module (it may not look like it but this is vanilla JS I’m assembling with a homemade tool).

@shadowfacts @gabek oh that's awesome! Best of luck with it. I'm no software dev and just started in rust, so hopefully someday i can work with something like that. 😁
