@HopeVanDyne I don't know about you, but I don't want to have to trust Republicans to reauthorize any social spending program. How about instead of wasting their time on that, they put all the money Congress "borrowed" from the two Social Security trust funds back into them? That would make them solvent. Also, make people pay FICA on their full earnings instead of exempting the upper middle class and rich from paying a percentage equal to that of a barista.

@MariaHill The Republican Party has tried to make stabs at those programs for years.
It’s not hard to find. Maybe WaPo can put me on their payroll now because I probably did as much research as Glenn Kessler did here.
