@JoelBodin @chudbere Nuke survival isn't like other survival. It's a money game. Not much advise can be given for that. You'd need a system already in place for your domicile to be safe and usable. You're talking about generators protected in faraday cages to run ion exchange and reverse osmosis devices to purify water. You'd want a shelter to protect against the types of radiation you'd potentially face based on the distance from and type of weapon used. To be safest you'd want a lead lined room which would cost a lot to set up properly and you'd want it to store food especially canned food since it would be useless once exposed.I guess the best advise is set up a lawn chair on the roof, roll a joint, grab a drink, and have a front row seat to the finale.

@Jim You can substitute 10x as much cement as the amount of lead shielding you desire. Lead has closely packed atoms, but any material can be made thick enough to block the desired percentage of radiation, but poor materials would be prohibitly expensive. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radiation_protection#Electromagnetic_radiation
