@TodaysRecipe @Username_ sure, we run fedi.ninja which keeps track of activity there's the-federation.info (we use pleroma server software so the-federation.info/pleroma) there's fediverse.space that gives visual representation

When blocked does it just block poast from their known fediverse feed? And if so can you still follow someone that is on a server that has poast blocked?

theres different types of blocks. there's media blocking, so profile images, banners whatever doesnt show up. there's follower-only blocking where they will only see you if that user follows you. there's instance level blocking where the server blocks absolutely everything from another server (also known as defederation). there's silenced so that you dont show up on the federated timeline but you will still appear to people you talk to in notifications and shit. sorry its confusing but welcome

Thanks. It would be interesting to know what's trending on the different nodes, but I'm out of my depth in understanding. Would seeing the trends on the servers that federate together ever be possible? It would be useful to get a sense of what's going on. Does poast have an area that shows whats trending? Maybe I just haven't found it yet.This is the first time I seem to be able to navigate a "fediverse" I looked at mastodon ages ago but it didn't really click.

we use elasticsearch as our search provider, I think it might be possible for us to do it but pleroma (our backend software) uses postgresql search as its default search provider and i think pulling something like that for others would be difficult i will look into this for you this week. bookmarked this reply so i can follow up

@graf @Username_ Did anything ever come of a Poast trending bar? I feel like you're far to busy, but I just wanted to ask anyway. Is there a way when scrolling through the main poast feed that I can click a post, and then when I hit the back button I don't go all the way to the top of the feed. If it could remember my place or if there was an "open link in new tab" for posts that would work to.

@TodaysRecipe @Username_ you can also click this one with middle or right click->open in new windowdoing this is particularly important in the event the user isnt a poast user, you can view the thread on their instance in the event a user is blocked or banned here for breaking rules
