@chudbere you may run into this sometime, what happens is the beam process (main process for the backend) will exhaust its database connections and crash. this wasnt an issue before because we had it cranked well past what it should have been. since ive put it into a sensible range shit like this happens. might just crank it back up and leave it tbh

I will have to look more into the client area on buyVM, I have to say it isn't very intuitive, and they don't do much on-boarding in the way of their "welcome" email. I had to dig around for quite a while before I found I had to create an account on stallion before I could even SSH into the server.

Oh yeah, people without ADHD should NOT take Adderall or Ritalin. It acts essentially like prescription meth on them. But ADHD is a physiological difference in brain structure that affects executive function, and we also don't make enough dopamine and the receptors we have for them are fucked. I was undiagnosed for 33 years, and the difference when medicated or not is night and day. Without them, I am in a constant low state of panic as I try to cut through the brain fog enough to stay focused on the things I need to get done each day. With them, I don't feel hyper at all, but much calmer and more relaxed because I can actually THINK.

@NickNailer1 man it just makes me calm as fuck and when it starts working my body just goes into cozy mode. its not a high or anything but if you take it while getting sleepy that shit will knock you out.fun story, i took THC capsules to quit smoking, not CBD and that coupled with Champix (chantix in the US) worked. literally never thought about cigarettes or nicotine againi dont think it cures anything but it does help in this regard. thanks for coming to my ted talk

I think it's funny how you assume that because someone takes a medication for an illness and it works for them that they are now a slave to "big pharma" and will just do whatever a doctor says without question. You have such black-and-white thinking. People are capable of keeping two different thoughts in their head at the same time. You can believe that big pharma is evil and often a scam, but also acknowledge that sometimes medications are very necessary. We chose not to get the covid vax. But my kids have all their other normal vaccines. I don't immediately ask for a prescription for antibiotics every time one of us has a cold. But I make sure my husband never runs out of the meds that keep his blood sugar under control.I believe that FOR ME at least, the benefit of my ADHD meds outweigh the risks, and I will be taking them again once I stop nursing. That may not be true for everyone, your mileage may vary. If that makes me a slave, then so be it. At least I will be a happy and productive one.

I describe the feeling as trying to listen to and comprehend 3 or 4 different TV channels at once, and one of those stations is playing nothing but loud static. And its like that 24/7. Sometimes being in a busy public place is completely overwhelming.

I sit down and read into things more than most people, over analyze and it fires all of my autismo switches. Maybe the anxiety is warranted - not so much paranoia. It's more like furious rage towards ghosts I can't even punch. I'm more relaxed when I'm sober, dialed in with just the right amount of caffeine. If I rip my bong or smoke an entire joint - I fixate on things instead of being productive. This is why I consider it now a liability because it may be setting off heart problems from the stress later on.It's really only worth my time to smoke weed if I'm going to play a vidya that requires quest grinding.

@TuckFrannies yeah so this particular failure wasn't something that could have been resolved without intervention. our backend doesn't fully crash when it exhausts database workers, it just hangs in limbo so the process monitor that would restart it didn't know it was crashed. it just hangsthis particular crash is what happened when we tried to merge the most recent upstream changes so I think it's related to me recently turning down database workers. I'll keep an eye on it
