@Eschatology If you want to idolize an ethnostate, as in a place with a singular ethnicity, I think Japan does that pretty well for also being a part of the modern world. I think something like over 95% of Japan is Japanese, and they still have a decent economy. I actually find it impressive how Japanese Japan is given how big tourism is there. It's not perfect but it's one of the few nice countries that is mostly one race.However if you want to take japanese culture as your own, I don't think that would bode well. At least not for Americans. America is very pro-individual and Japan is much more 'for the community' types. It also doesn't make sense to me for someone who is pro whatever to take up a different culture.

Most depictions of Japanese people in pre-1960s anime showed clear Asiatic facial features. One of the reasons why Tezuka’s work was a success in the West is because it sort of resembled a cheapo version of Western animation with racially ambiguous fair skinned characters. All Japanese people depicted in modern Anime are honorary whites, the Japanese consider themselves Western after they got giganuked and groomed post-war.
