@SneedySpaget yeah i popped a 3070ti in here up from 2070 when they came down in price finally. apparently these are supposed to be cheaper MSRP and with the ability to mine some crypto pretty much exhausted there probably wont be as much demand so i will probably upgrade at that point. maybe. we'll see how it pans out

@graf @RGBAnatidae Regardless of this pc-climate-change-absurdity the future is small integrated PCs, it won't be long until they're powerful enough to run almost any current game at 60fps. Anything with RDNA2 integrated is now fairly decent, a couple of generations down the road we'll have boxes that cost around £200 and pack the power of a PS5/XBOX, if you don't believe me check the SteamDeck price/performance with a GPU with a TDP of 15W. There will always be enthusiasts/professionals which will buy a 4090 but most people will use cheap small integrated PCs.

@PalePimp @graf @RGBAnatidae steam deck is amazing, its interesting to play around with the TDP limiter, i'm able to run older games like half life and worms with it set to 3 watts. everything up to N64 emulation works too.

@graf Nah, it's not a sleeper machine. I just bought a huge case and haven't seen fit to replace it yet, just the internals every few years.It would be fun to build up a beige box sleeper PC, though. Come to think of it, that might be a fun thing to do when I build my file server.
