Here is the dashcam footage from my car on Sunday night when I was swatted live on Twitch. I didn't make a big deal of it on stream when I got back 40 minutes later, but it was a LOT more serious than I let on. I was confronted by police with guns drawn, frisked, handcuffed, then left in the back of a squad car for 15 minutes while a team of officers pulled my husband and six children out of the house at nearly 11pm at night then did a sweep of the house to clear it. Thankfully things worked out fine, but it still was a dangerous situation that could have ended up in tragedy if I hadn't stayed calm and if I hadn't been called by the dispatcher before police arrived and let them know that this was a swatting attempt. Whoever did this put not just me, but my husband and six innocent children (the youngest only 5 months old) at serious risk. I do plan to make another video with more context from my stream on what I was talking about when I was swatted, emergency scanner audio, etc-- but that may take me another few days or a week to put together. I considered very carefully whether to share this footage or not before doing it. However I doubt that anyone would bother to do this a second time. The local authorities are aware of the situation now, and any further attempts to swat me would not get them the same result. In the end I think it is more beneficial to bring exposure to the very real danger of this kind of behavior, and put a human face on the potential consequences involved when you treat other humans like their lives don't matter because you dislike something they said. It's very easy to lose sight of that online and act like others are just pixels on a screen.

@chudbere Not only do I hate the people who do this, but let's talk about the police for a second - we live in a country where, at the whim of a phone call, the State will kick in your door like it's Fallujah in 2004. Feels like I'm living in an occupied territory more than a nation.

@chudbere So I'm genuinely curious. Did you ever talk to the police before this incident happened to try to prevent it? If not, do you think that would have helped? If not, (and this last question doesn't need an immediate answer) what do you think would help prevent other streamers from experiencing this kind of thing in the future?

I had not before this incident, no. I generally just play horror games and color comics on stream. And if I do discuss drama occasionally, I try to from an "observer" perspective, as impartial as I can be. I might laugh a bit at someone being a retard or offer an opinion on something, but I'm not out there like calling people slurs on stream or anything. Not only is that not my personality, Twitch wouldn't like that very much. So to be honest, I never really thought someone would bother swatting a mom of 6 in front of her ~30 viewers, lol. If I had called before it may have helped, so I would encourage any streamer regardless of audience size to go ahead and make contact with your local city and county cops and give them your information and phone number. The fact that the county had my phone number and was able to call me as they were driving out to our place was probably a big help. And if they do show up, just make sure to stay CALM and comply with everything they ask of you.As far as preventing it, Josh from KF has a good guide somewhere on how to prevent from getting doxxed and protecting your identity online. I recommend it. That is the first line of defense against getting swatted. However, my husband and I are very public about our identities on my stream and on his webcomic, so it's not like it's a challenge to dox us. Other advice I could give is to have a BRB scene set up in your OBS or streaming software, and bind hotkeys to it and also hotkeys to turn off your camera and microphone. That way if you do get interrupted this way, it only takes a moment to switch those things off and deny the swatters any opportunity to watch what is happening live. And then when the incident is over, be as calm and normal as you can when you return. They want to see people upset, crying, or scared. Don't give them that satisfaction. When I came back to my stream, I ate some dinner and joked around about selling hats as I updated chat on what happened. Then I continued streaming for another 30 minutes or so before ending for the night.

I understand that sentiment, but I genuinely credit the deputies here for how they conducted themselves. They stayed calm and were friendly and professional the entire time. Before they left, they were chatting with me about my weeb collection of Evangelion figurines and Pokemon cards.Unfortunately, the reality that we live in is that police HAVE to take this sort of call seriously, even if they've called the resident before arriving (such as in this case) and been told there's nothing wrong. If they failed to show up because they were told everything's okay and then it ended up that an actual incident was taking place, they would be very liable and very sue-able as a result.

*shrug* Right before the 911 call I was discussing Keffals vs Nick Rekieta on stream, and then explaining what the fediverse is. It could be related to either of those things, or just some rando third party trying to stir shit. I don't really care about their motivations, it's not going to change the way I stream or what I talk about.

@chudbere @johnbudd1350 I disagree completely. They've been trained to act is like they they ground forces in the army, primed with a hair trigger, when they simply are not. This was never their intended role. This behavior, regardless of whether they are "friendly" or not afterwards, gets innocent people murdered, many more times than it has saved lives. Any slipup when you first approached them could have resulted in them killing you, and the same goes with your family. You admitted as much when sharing this. Cops absolutely should not act this way, and there needs to be training in order to identify obviously false or strangely extreme cases that get called in. Otherwise, they are nothing but the tools of freaks and weridos on the internet to harass and even murder people they disagree with or don't like.

@johnbudd1350 @chudbere Israelis and Jews are not training the police to act this way so they can harass random people on the internet.A lot of people who become cops are, unflattering as this sounds, losers in high school who got bullied a lot, and who want to wear a uniform so they can either get respect or boss other people around. A lot also want the "CoD experience" without having to leave home, and so become police instead of joining the army. They tend to act over the top and overly aggressive. Many mellow out as they get older and more experience, but a few don't, and it goes to their heads. Unfortunately they give police a bad name.This Israelis offer "military training" to a few of them, which them spreads to other police throughout the nation, and they take it because it feeds their ego. The Israelis do it because they are like the North Korea of the western world - they want people to travel there and then go on and on about how awesome it is back home. Clout is everything for them.The other reason police want this training though is a very practical and real reason. They are having to deal with increasing gang violence on the streets. The dam broke in 2020, but it's been getting bad for a while now, as any cop would tell you. On their part it's for self defense.Jewish involvement by groups like the ADL are concerned about them becoming biased, and because of this, they have to treat everyone like suspicious scum now. Police officers know that, during training exercises, thing like their reaction times are recorded and can be used against them if they react faster for "black targets" over others. The ALD is concerned with Blacks or other groups getting mistreated by the cops, or cops developing biases due to the increased number of altercations they've had since the 90's crime bills passed. This conditions cops to treat everyone like 'armed gang members from the streets of Detroit who just murdered someone' during nearly every altercation, ballooning the police's already bad habits when working with civilians.However, groups like the ADL did not do this so that when a psycho with a rotting ax wound between his legs can make false police reports. At the very worse, I guess the expression is that "policy has a blast radius". Things dominoed from one to the other.The real issue you should see is that, lately, cops are being trained to handled these other groups with kid gloves. You can see an example here. After being caught drunk driving, with an open alcohol contain in the car, resisting arrest, obstructing an investigation, and literally driving on the wrong side of the road, the cops still thanked her for cooperating at the end of it.Now this is me obviously inferring here, but I feel like this because that woman was black. Were she white, or even of some other non-black ethnicity, I doubt the cops would have neither tolerated her initial behavior, nor said that afterwards. Cops are afraid of things like this getting spun, which is the result of actions from groups like BLM and the ADL, and is a picture of their actual goals when working with police. @Elliptica I mean the ADL sees trannies as their foot soldiers too. The kind of harassment Claire received is par for the course for anarcho-tyranny, where the "gang violence" (niggers) you mentioned goes largely unpunished (or lightened sentencing), but innocent White people get to feel the full force of the state mobilized against them for even daring to question their oppressors (jews and their black/tranny golems). I know @chudbere probably doesn't see the Jewish issue, but she and her family got to experience their power first hand. Much like how the system mobilized against Josh Moon; this is how Jewish power operates.
