You couldn't tell where you were going and the game knew it so they had the fireflies constantly pointing. None of the stuff they were going for worked well either. The elaborate environment traps were wayyy too contextual to pull off.Rise did a good job of implementing verticality with less "layers" and more open spaces and by having wirebugs and wall running.And Zorah Magdaros is boring as fuck.

I didn't actually get to play that much Iceborne though so I can't say.There's many ways this can go but I'm not a graphics snob. 30fps on Switch is fine for me but it still plays 60fps on PC and looks quite good. And remember that MH:W was originally made for PS4 first.I think that Rise is the better game because what seem like "gimmicks" in the form of the wirebugs and ninja wallrunning are actually really necessary corrections to what made World/Iceborne suck which was the environmental layout and the badly implemented verticality. Also, riding the dog is really handy. And having buffs in the form of endemic life pick-ups instead of getting everything from cooking gives you a reason to explore the stage a bit before you take on the monster which was much better than that shitty footprint chasing thing they had in World.The "prop" Elder Dragon quests in World with Zorah Magdoras were boring as fuck. But Rise has the honor of being the first MH game to make these quests actually enjoyable with Rampage Quests.Everything in Rise is just that bit better optimized. Switch skills give you more freedom to play how you want. The armor skills have been tweaked better. Yeah... if you like the "new style" of MH, I don't know why you wouldn't like Rise. I think it is just "oldfags" and I say this as a 3rd Gen adoptee.

When I'm done playing it, I'm gonna give MH:G a go because missed it the first time. I also love MHGU. That's probably my favorite one tbh. I'm playing the 3DS games because I'm having some sort of rekindled love affair with my 3DS. I don't know if I can do MH3U though. The swimming....And yeah... the controls are pretty annoying. I don't know if it's my slide pad that's the issue or the game itself. It seems like the game doesn't keep up with where I move the slide pad.

In the endā¦ I found myself watching the bugs more than the environment before I got to the monster.Rise does has a different way of promoting āforeplayā (ie: exploring the map a bit before fighting the monster) All the large monsters are just revealed on the map. You donāt need to find them, paintball them or collect clues. But you -might- want to explore the map to pick up endemic life to use as props in the fight, upgrade your Attack/Defense/Vitality/Stamina because cooking doesnāt cover it allfind a different monster to mount them and then use them to fight the target monsterBut itās all optional. If you want you can just Spiderman your way to the target monster straight away.

I was hoping for like.. a trackpad for being able to aim bowgun while moving. Also: My C-stick nub on my New 3DS seems to be buggered. I want to mod it with a PSP 1000 stick already. But yeah... you can get a circle pad pro if you want "dual analog" control. MH4U is CCP compatible.I'm cheesed off that they didn't use motion controls. Metroid Federation Forces used it quite well.

@Xeraser @PunishedD @Sigh @graf @book @Suzu ah right. Well yeah... the economy of MHW overall is pretty miserly. There aren't that many armor sets and people all go for the same builds anyway. Like I mentioned earlier, the gameplay loop wasn't that great.One thing I liked was that as Charge Blade chad, I was the one guy NOT going for critical eye/critical boost because phial attacks aren't affected by affinity. So I was at least different in that regard. I wasn't one of the many drones with the eye-patch that gives a lot of critical eye skill.

He's a very whimsical monster and when I'm minding my own business and I hear the trumpets announcing him, I actually smile and don't get too frustrated. I doubt admin would care about background checks. Tbh the instance users little had to do with the main site for the most part, it was kind of cute to read their ultra conservative religious posts, it was like attending church but everyday instead of just sundays.
