I'm in total awe of how willing journos are to go after innocent people. Random people with 3 degrees of separation get asked for comment by journos representing large companies like Bloomberg and AP regarding their 'association' with Kiwi Farms and Joshua Moon (a person and website they've literally never even heard of), and how they feel about supporting hate speech / doxing / whatever.I know a lot of people make jokes about the press and how evil they are, but you need to take it to heart. Even I, up until 2 weeks ago, did not fully understand how much journos are willing to lie. You see such crass, bold statements and assume there's no way someone could just lie about it - because surely they'd be called out for it.No, they lie about everything. They also really love to lie by omission. Everybody who can call them out on it has been driven off the Internet and out of work. The people who would be countersignaling journos are on fucking random shitposting websites now because they're not allowed to exist.

@josh TL;DR: This problem will not be solved until it is no longer profitable for journalist to lie. When new media came in these people had to compete with a free flow of information. They lost control of the societal narrative. And most importantly the profitable attention that power brings them. Now they have to compete to stay alive, and they are willing to do anything for attention. They hate "journalists" like Taylor Lorenz because she rightfully wants to create a brand for herself. Knowing that it is the only way to sustain herself as a journalist long term. She is doing it in the most fucked up way possible and she is a complete scam. But the one thing she does have right is that she is not going to be writing articles for 150-200$ to barely stay alive like most journos do. Being a journalist is possibly one of the shittiest jobs you could possibly have. Long hours, shit pay and slowly the impression of honesty and nobleness is fading away as the business is getting more transparent. Any sense of real journalism died at the inception of the Internet. Because it is simply not profitable to present a balanced view of the world. It is a massive problem that I do not know of a good solution to yet. I would almost like to see a journalistic profession that is close to the integrity of a lawyer or doctor. Where if they lie, defame or otherwise are dishonest they face heavy penalties. As things are today they will just have to print a small retraction. Or at worst pay a minor fine. This means that the cost benefit of printing lies is positive. This problem will not be solved until it is no longer profitable for journalist to lie.
