You'll suffer much less of free floating spike protien but will still have alot of damage from fighting the virus itself. Lots of people lost taste and/or smell from it. If municipal chlorination/oxydation whatever your area does isn't destroying it then you may need to use filters on you tap water. More extreme solutions l water filter for your whole house get really expenisive sadly.Haven't seen yet a determined half life for it in the environment but considering the Great Lakes and the detected levels of pharmaceuticals at the surface I'd says atleast be ready for a long haul.
