the massive growth of poast over the last week and a bit has proven that people truly want an alternative to twitter and other "big tech" sites which, forgive me for saying, includes gab. fedi can provide this. pleroma definitely cant at this scale. running individual instances for cliques and groups is the way forward. we need to focus this growth on health of the network. i will make some time this week to help people make instances and manage them, if this is you leave a comment in this thread and i will make time for you this week via dm or vc or similar

@Kazak we have multiple EPYC dedicated servers and regularly they are maxed out. 10,000 users online on at time is a lot of strain on an already extremely shitty and inefficient database structure

@dia if its mean to truly be single user instance, disable registrations and use a bigger node to search for content and follow those people on yours. that way you only have stuff relevant to you that you want to see. if you cozy up to something like poast you will see shit you dont want to see all the time
