@izaya nothing is 50%, but FHD has been solidly in the lead for a while https://gs.statcounter.com/screen-resolution-stats

@silhouette that has a lot of odd resolutions, if they're collecting that from browser viewports, many would be scaledanyway, yeah, 1080p only overtook 1366x768 in late 2020 by the looks

@puniko @izaya Which they probably have been thinking for a while, 1024×768 was a *very* common display resolution as well.

@izaya they should transcode to 1366x720p to leave space for subtitles and player UI

FYI @wolf480pl there isn’t much space left for subtitles, plus it can be done without wasting cycles transcoding (reproduce with mpv --video-unscaled --video-align-y=-1 --ytdl-raw-options=sub-format=en). It’s probably good for movies though. Cc: @izaya

@izaya It's still the vast majority, a little skew isn't going to account for this.

@gudenau according to https://gs.statcounter.com/screen-resolution-stats , 1080p only overtook 1366x768 a few years ago, and the difference isn't massive still, though increasing
