holy fuck am I glad that I was taken out hunting and fishing with my dad and in other times just pulled all nighters playing halo instead of developing brain rot that would eventually lead to thinking making rules for texting is normal and cool. I still have retarded zoomer brain to some degree but I’m glad it’s not as severe

@Weedle Granted, one of the books that I’ve been trying to finish but can’t is the Forest passage by Ernst Jünger and holy Christ it hurts my head. I usually have to sit and think in between reading but with that one it’s slower than usual. It doesn’t help that I haven’t read his other books which forest passage, while their not required reading to understand, kind of piggy backs off of

@AnFashSchizo lol I am in the same boat, I wanted to do a reread of Thus Spoke Zarathustra but man its not the smoothest read. Probably best to try and ramp up to that, though I couldnt tell you what the intermediary between Ernst Junger and Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid is.

@AnFashSchizo zoomers should really be split into 2 different generations. the ones born before 9/11, and the ones born after. theres a MASSIVE behavioral difference between zoomers who are 20 and zoomers who are 25.

@ignika98 I happen to be in the latter half. But yeah this is mostly true although their does exist a good amount, mostly men ofc, that see how retarded this generation is. Maybe my anecdotal experience is meaningless but I’ve met enough to notice there’s a trend of people looking around and saying “really, this is the shit heap I’m stuck with?”

@Nirty_Digger @AnFashSchizo i think one of the biggest differences is how much more influential smartphones and social media were during the childhoods of younger zoomers compared to older ones.as a pre 9/11 zoomer i was around and old enough at the time to see the transition from dumb phones to smartphones, and old enough to have owned both. people my age didnt grow up surrounded by social media either, we became the early adopters when we were kids/teenagers. by the time these things became what they are today, people my age already had time to develop without them, and so they influenced us differently than people who grew up using their moms smartphone.its obvious that smartphones, social media, and the internet in general were some of the biggest influences on zoomers growing up. but all these things came so fast that there is a clear sub-generational gap between the zoomers who were born in the late 90s vs the ones born in the early 2000s.

@ignika98 @AnFashSchizo I was only 5 when Apple released the Iphone in 2007. The only saving grace for me is that my parents restricted a lot of my access to technology for a few more years until I was 11.
