@Beekeeper I had to mount a new TV recently after my ancient Sony tv kicked the bucket, and literally this week my microwave left the mortal plane and I'm looking at GE units. Wonder if there's a glitch in the matrix.

@Beekeeper the GE above the range microwave I found is nice and only about 450 bucks. Not too bad and it's definitely not the cheapest available. I'll snag a pic in a minute.

@Beekeeper you can find a repair place but it's difficult online. Most of them are people who won't adapt to the Internet before they die unfortunately so as much as you want to support their business it's futile. That said I repair my own stuff often and I can say from personal experience that often a repaired microwave never cooks the same again. My 1100w cooks exactly the same as the 900w at work, despite it coming way more even and faster before failing. That's why I'm looking to replace now.

@Beekeeper I'm tired of replacing microwave handles every 3 years. I have kids and they aren't rough on stuff but it's just a lot of traffic. Give me a simple small metal handle that just needs to be tightened once a year. Instead they build the plastic handle further in on the mold so you have to replace more of the microwave when it breaks, to encourage people to toss it and buy new.

@Beekeeper a few years back I fixed my brother's by supergluing the handle together, making a mold and using a hard resin in the cast with a metal skeleton. It probably wasn't worth the hassle but it'll last a while. He makes resin for furniture so it was on hand. Best of luck with the TV man. Big jealous of an OLED like that
