An oddity I just thought of when it comes to games and genres.A lot of RTS games features a speed setting. Depending on title, it tends to go from very slowed down all the way up to absurdly sped up.Why?And more to the point then, why just RTS? It is certainly no standard in other genres, be it RPGs, FPSs or so on.#gaming

@LingondrakenI happen to know that the Source Engine (and maybe GoldSrc?) includes a console command that adjusts the game speed, I think by setting the delay between frames. Oddly enough I haven't seen this used for challenge modes, but it does create an amusing effect when cranked to absurd numbers. The now-old shooter Sauerbraten also had a "slowmo" option, where the game speed was proportional to your remaining hit points. Made things easier when you were low, but at 200% it was CRAZY!
