       Phew, I did it. I ordered a Morserino 2nd edition device to learn and practive CW. With shipping to Spain it was pretty expensive but hopefully that will motivate me to use it! #hamradio #cw http://www.morserino.info/

       @do1mj I keep repeating this warning: When learning #CW, do yourself the favor and learn somewhat fast CW from the beginning. The letters should come in at 60 cpm/12 wpm with no additional space between characters. This way, you have no chance to train and practice the terrible habit of THINKING about incoming characters. Research "Koch method". Shamless plug: https://gitlab.com/4ham/koch-method-real-words/-/blob/master/README.md is one place to look up on it (you won't want the "with German words" part with a Morserino).

       @do1mj I underestimted what a Morserino can do... So, after all, it *IS* compatible with my "Koch with real words" idea, in case you want to go that route. But it is the "Koch" learning at speed that is important, not the "with German words" part.

       @n3jlnIf you start at 8 wpm speed, as that site suggests, you're not following Koch's advice. Koch's method fundamentally starts with 12 wpm from the very start. So you could do Koch with that side, but the defaults are old school very much non-Koch.There are a lot of resources out there that claim to use Koch, but are leading people into the thinking trap. From the face of it, this seems to be one of them.@do1mj

       @n3jln @do1mj I wrote an email to them asking them to change their default speed from 8 to 12 wpm, and also to not heavily use Farnsworth and call it "Koch".
