@pamby1 Likewise. Actually, I could get through what we're going through without belief. It's not fear-based in any way.I'm just impressed at how things are going and seeing a lot of God in there. And, I'm pretty convinced that there's actual Satanists in power. Jesus really pisses them off. Satanists believe in God but hate him. @shecky2000 It's a big problem. The Christian Church, Protestant and Catholic, has been well infiltrated. Put the prayer forward, then eyes and ears open. Ask around. Research like you would with any institution you're interested in associating with. It'll come. But don't be afraid to walk away from something that ain't right. @shecky2000 You're right about the satanists- I had no idea of the amount of evil that has infiltrated our government. The stolen election has opened my eyes to a lot of things I wasn't aware of. It has a foothold at the moment & at times seems to win, but the satanist's days are numbered. It hasn't been an easy time for anyone but my faith at least sustains & changes me through the difficulty. God uses everything as a doorway into your life so that you can see him more clearly.

@shecky2000 I would look for something small and friendly. I generally like independent Baptist churches because most of them don't have a church hierarchy: the pastor preaches and answers only to God and the congregation, who hired him. There are no bishops, elders, etc. It's a little like a constitutional republic.@jmc464

@shecky2000 Asking for advice is central to my prayer. I need it. I'm my own biggest problem. The key is to ask, then patiently wait. Wait for the answer to present itself unmistakably. This takes practice, trial and error, learning to hear God's voice, which is quiet and subtle (most of the time, but not always). There is risk, definitely, but you'll learn to tell the difference. You'll make mistakes. But He is patient and forgiving. You're forming a relationship, a friendship, with Him.

@shecky2000 Remember that you must repent (turn away from sin) and trust in Jesus as your savior. Jesus is God, and was God made manifest in flesh while he lived here. He is the ultimate, final, spotless passover lamb. Believe in his payment for you and take the path towards holiness. Read the Bible: Yahweh's commandments and love letters to you. It is good to believe, but Jesus calls us to strive to be sinless, and how can you do that without knowing the law? :bible:

It comes in NJKV and NASB but the modern NIV language is excellent for today and that's the version I would suggest for you.To JM's suggestion, I would add Psalms and Proverbs. These I often read for pleasure.I would buy a tabbed version so you can find the books easily while you're following a sermon. @CONSERVATARIAN @shecky2000 Watching the flowers interact butterflies is my church. Every time I walked into our family "church" I bust out in tears. I feel the darkness. Fellowship is a wonderful thing in community building, but that too has fallen into a heavily sedated group think.
