Fucking smokers, man.I should’ve ordered a pack of cigarettes instead of a meal because that’s basically what I ended up eating.Seems the fuckers have a monopoly when it comes to sitting outside to eat here.

@Ropyro @aral or, yaknow, they could have some composure and not indulge their addiction that affects their ability to taste the food they're eating for a mere 30 minutes.In Quebec, there are dedicated smokers lounges in a few places. It gives a place for people to smoke hookah or cigars and have a brandy, play some cards, without inflicting it on the general populace.

@bananarama @aral Most smokers doesn't look at what they do as negatively as you. They're not indulging an addiction in their minds. Smoking is an enjoyable part of having drinks with friends and without living in a city as progressive as Québec, they will do as they were originally asked to do years ago and go outside. Now they're being criticized for being outside, too? I think complaints should be directed toward the establishment, not to those who are doing what's well within their current right to do. And, if you'd like to remove that right, take it up with the government.

@aral Could be worse, you could live in Canada where marijuana — and the skunky, disgusting smell it brings — was legalized. Apparently our government couldn’t come up with anything more pressing and important to deal with.

@bananarama @aral No, instead I get to enjoy the waft of pot randomly while walking on the street, driving, or entering/leaving the lobby of my condo. That last one really angers me, as all smoking is banned here. The fact that someone walking through the lobby leaves an odour tells me they’re smoking in their unit.

@bananarama @pim (Tell that to the three women who moved to the table next to me last night, cigarettes in hand. One even turned and asked if I smoked and I said “no, and I’m eating” to which she replied “well, at least you’re outside”. This was Ireland, by the way.) 🤷♂️
