@Rasp How is this even legal, the car is your property and if you are allowed to park overnight why wouldn't you be allowed to stay in the car overnight

@ocean @Rasp tbh — laws are whatever people want them to be... I can't read the text where this is, but it doesn't really matter, most places have some sort of laws (some more, some less directly) against homelessness, because people in power are dicks

@ocean @Rasp I would love to read the idiotic justification for itI can totally imagine some boomer saw this and couldn't mind their own business so they complained to city council.

@kogomi @epsi @ocean @Rasp it is in germany. if very sleepy one is supposed to sleep for a while and drive later again. the inside of cars gets the same protection as a house (with the exception of driving laws. for example police can search the car when u were driving it and they stopped you. if the car is just parking legally somewhere they cant.) you can also have sex in the car without being a "public nuisance"

@ocean @Rasp In the US there are no federal or state laws (to my knowledge) preventing you from sleeping in your car since it's personal property. However there can be regional (city county etc) laws that classify it as a form of trespassing. Trespassing also considers property owner's intent, hence why it's not trespassing to be in a store in general but is if the owner tells you to get out.I think it's bullshit, but that's the legal reasoning.
