how many on here live in a liberal 'bubble' like me? a neighbor came over last night to talk about Trump's going to jail for nuclear docs, stormy daniels was his lover, you name the scam he's all in. Do y'all truly know how many people are uninformed (and will NOT listen) out there? This is a steep uphill battle.

@Sherri_Ingrey @scottmitchellrose Well of course, but Canada for whatever reason is often touted as the better America, when it really isnât. The creation of the faux Qalipu nation and 60âs scoop are unique fucked up things Canada has done that other countries didnât do to that great of an extent. The fact Canada was able to create fake bands to get oil sold back to them is an insidious political strategy.

@Sherri_Ingrey @scottmitchellrose These are not opinions. These are facts and itâs really sus that youâre extremely defensive over Canadaâs anti-indigenous history. I never said America was any better, but there are similarities in how they treated indigenous people versus how they are treated in the global south.

@nenetl @scottmitchellrose you don't know a single effing thing about me. I have been promoting indigenous issues since I was a teenager. My law practice worked with indigenous urban women for urban improvement of the core (not even CLOSE to US ghettos) I was a director of Edmonton Working Women, for poor working women. I did lifeskill coaching precisely because of the attacks on longterm multi challenged women on social assistance and for them. It's the reason I got a degree in adult education on top of my other two degrees. There's more., But do pound on about your opinions.

I donât care if you have been promoting indigenous issues since you were a teen, you got extremely defensive over me pointing out several real issues that happened to several of my friends and other displaced natives. Stating several facts about the violence Canada inflicted on indigenous communities isnât a matter of opinion. However, your Robin Williams post is.

Again you are not "educating" me because you don't know a fucking thing about what I know. Our first black immigrants were in the early 1600s although the French had black and indigenous slaves after that. Jamaican maroons settled in 1796 but they hated the cold and went to somewhere warm..slavery was outlawed in the British colonies in 1772. Then there was the War of 1812, then the underground railroad. There was black settlement in Victoria BC in 1858. Maybe not the MAJORITY but certainly diverse, and has been ever since, despite some pretty horrific treatment of the Chinese. And you seem to think that reservations in Canada are all like the really bad ones but not all of them are. And "segregation from modern society" because there is no potable water is not "by choice". You know nothing so FO and then FO some more.
