The original coloring has degenerated (it was painted on a beechwood canvas), giving the impression that the Reformer had a greyish tint - but it was originally closer to the color in the portrait I posted.Not that this kind of autiste detail matters though, as Luther was never a banker. @SuperLutheran @WinterAle I forget which biography of Luther it's in (I think it's "Christian between God and Death"), but I recall reading that no one actually knows what Luther looked like because the portraiture of hum varied so much and Cranach in particular varied the face shape and appearance of him in his portrait, but the one thing we do know is that his eyes were a defining feature or his appearance, so the argument for lighter pigmentation is probably the stronger argument.

Do you believe in the same hierarchy and lineage of bishops that decided what books to include? Do you believe they can decide what is God's word? Could they add new books to the Bible? If not, why not? Especially when many of the books of the Bible were most likely not written by the person that fundamentalists attribute them to?

@rdr @Godcast @Insomnolant @SuperLutheran You can't call the bible corrupt and at the same time use it for your arguments that Christ isn't God. I'm not overly concerned with who specifically wrote the Bible because what matters is that when I read it I see the truth and glory of God revealed in a way I don't anywhere else with anything else. The Catholic hierarchy is not my God, God is my God, and I believe this is how he has revealed the truth of His will and His true nature to me.

@rdr @Godcast @SuperLutheran I don't care if you embrace my beliefs, except inasmuch as I want you to be saved by faith in Christ and not go to Hell, which I suppose is a lot! But the main point I'm making is just that you have some misconceptions about the content of my beliefs and I've endeavored to correct those misconceptions. But if you don't believe men led by the Holy Spirit can adequately represent the will of God there's not a lot I can do!

Iâm just saying your book is flawed, many of the individual books are pseudepigraphic, plus youâre probably not reading the original language either. The KJV even has extra verses that arenât from the original manuscripts. Many swear by that version because it includes a spurious verse that is the only mention of the trinity in the Bible, otherwise you rely on Catholic tradition for that concept. But sure you donât think the hierarchy can invent stuff lol
