I'm very sorry to say that although I'd kept my cat with the vet and she'd had 3 treatments in the last month, she didn't bounce back today. I had to make the very difficult call and end her suffering. RIP Mika 2006-2022

@graf I don't cry but I couldn't help it today. I didn't spend a lot of time with her until 2017 when I became a basement dweller but she's been my main companion since then. That's how I knew something was wrong even more so than her refusal to eat or drink, she stopped wanting to lay with me in favor of hiding herself. I guess that's something they say is normal, pets hiding to hide their pain or illness. She was a real trooper

@FelonyCommitter @graf I'm so sorry Eggy. I lost my dog if 18 years about a year ago and I'm still torn up about it. I'm sure you gave your friend the best life they could have had and choosing the hard decision that you did will always be the right call. I hope you find some peace soon.

@FelonyCommitter Take care. I lost my older cat in 2015 (no pictures on my phone but i can find some after the trip). The only thing that helped was that less than six months earlier we had found a cat trapped in the stairwell and effectively adopted her, so there was still company.
