       The fediverse is cool so far, just wish there was a way to revive interest in good ole forums though :floppa: Would a federated network of forum-esque websites even be feasible? Imagine in the future if there was a network of forums and you could find insular communities dedicated to various subjects by exploring the network. I know this sounds a lot like R*ddit but R*ddit is just full of bots and faceless strangers, with forums you get a much comfier experience with like minded individuals :cat-die: /endrant

       I hope there will be one eventually. Problem with this Twitter like system is you can’t really enter a conversation without replying to someone else and it’s really restrictive.

       I just saw a post on my feed about someone drinking a lot of caffeine and I want to join in and talk about my inability to feel anything after drinking coffee but who do I reply to? The whole point of the reply feature is to direct your response to someone. I just wanted to post words into the void without someone being confused as to why they received the notification to my ramblings.

       Already exists in a couple forms, there's things like https://anon.cafe/overboard/ which is part of a webring, and also https://github.com/FChannel0/FChannel-Server, which is a bunch of federated 4chan like sites, though still kind of buggy.
