       The space bar on my laptop is making a bad noise when I use it. All the backlit keys on my keyboard are wearing off to jut spots of light where letters once lived. I am going to have to retire this laptop pretty soon. This thing has been amazing.

       @ghoul most replacement keyboards for laptops are in the 20-40$ range, labor $60-120 if you can't do it yourself. Give it a nice isopropryl alcohol bath, dust the fan/heatsink and throw a fresh keyboard at it. Don't be wastful if you are happy with it ))
