A weirdly specific problem I have been having lately is that it is seemingly almost impossible to buy a pepper mill that *doesn't* come pre-packed with pepper. Our pepper mills keep breaking and every time we buy a new one it's already full of pepper. But we already have a *lot* of pepper, due to the other pepper mills. We simply do not use all that much pepper

@mcc clearly the solution here is to make a dishes that require large quantities of whole peppercorns

@mcc i don't have any recipes off the top of my head. there's corned beef, or rubs for meat that have a lot of pepper. on the other hand i suppose those are mostly crushed, not whole. on the other other hand i'd expect crushed to be more efficient volumetrically at getting rid of themif you have a mortar and pestle or a spice grinder, recipes that use a lot of the crushed/ground stuff aren't as annoyingwhen i make pickles, i add 1-2 tablespoons of whole black peppercorns per quart-sized container

@mcc @shadowfacts Filipino adobo uses whole peppercorns. I found this recipe which uses quite a lot of them (I don't use this many when I make adobo, though): https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ZdxSPFt4oxkOther recipes I've seen use a teaspoon of peppercorns.
