These are grants for training for practical office or clinical skills that are more quickly realized than a four-year (or beyond) degree, and are good for nontraditional students. That may be a path to financial resiliency, if they are available where Mushroom lives. They operate on the fiscal calendar, and sometimes offer some cost-of-living grants.And there is always Rover or Wag for dog-walking, apparently, though I can’t find the thread where people were giving the other woman suggestions.

Thing is though the method they use is proactive; the idea is to allocate the money you have into spending buckets *before* you spend it. This does two things: 1. Actually tracks where every penny goes in each category 2. Forces me to prioritize what I actually *need* vs what I *want*It also has charts for income vs expenses, total spending over the year by category, and net worth. Oh yeah and you automatically link your bank account so you don't have to manually import transactions.
