Question for younger millennials and older Gen Z (thinking born between 1992 and 2002): would you say that you had a lot of leisure time when you were kids? #askfedi

@reinderdijkhuis Yes, I did, but I never did any extracurricular activities, sports, or some such, so my results might not be typical.

@adamasnemesis Having had plenty of leisure seems to have been the pattern, which kind of surprises me because that was the time I first started reading about kids drowning in extracurricular activities. How about electronics (anything from TV, video games, social media and messaging to coding but not creating art or music on a computer)?

@reinderdijkhuis Drowning in super-competitive extracurricular activities and the like is real, but it's a phenomenon of the upper middle class. Children from other strata haven't been affected by it much.
