@EnbyJo @kaia if you pull the wrong end and power is still going through, you will zap yourself if you make contact with the metal of the plug. If you get zapped and drop it, it could start am electrical fire. It's not an ideal setup.

@kaia yea okay im stupid thanks 😅 if it calms you i do work with mains electricity and suicide cords quite regularly and have only ever gotten a small shock from a disconnected capacitor, so i guess it didnt even come to mind someone would pull the plug and touch the contacts? idk

@kaia I'd use an IEC 60309 if this kinda setup was actually needed. They have wall-mount connectors in both male and female variants. But I suppose this situation came out of laziness not out of necessity...

@Agartha_Noble @kaia @EnbyJo In fairness, I've done the backwards lights on the tree before and I'm smart enough to not kill myself with a suicide cord. I was very close to busting out the soldering gun and making one, but it only took 5 minutes to redo the lights. If I was hours in, I probably would have, and I would have heat wrapped it capped & wrapped the other end of the cord first for safety.
