The attempt to recall L.A. DA George Gascon has failed to qualify for the ballot. They needed to collect 566,857 signatures and the Registrar-Recorders office announced that only 520,050 of the more than 715K signatures it collected were valid. Think about that. They invalidated almost 200K signatures.

Only as many as they needed to.

@obihahn I wonder how many signatures were invalidated in their elections or if they even undergo this level of scrutiny.

@obihahn If they’d have turned in a million signatures, they would have invalidated 450,000 of them. No matter how many signatures were turned in, they were going to invalidate enough so they couldn’t get it on the ballot. That’s how it works. They did the same thing in the Mitten State to keep James Craig off the ballot, who would have been a shoo in to beat Whitmer.Expect nothing less from these people, because they will stop at nothing to get their way. They are evil.

@obihahn Not saying it's not fixed, because it is, but in any signature campaign something like a third or a quarter are always invalidhttps://ballotpedia.org/Initiative_Petition_Signature_Validity_Rates
