@BazookachinKevin though i setup my own pleroma instance and chose pleroma because meastodon is sort of big and i don't really need mastodon

@BazookachinKevin @jason123santa @jason123santa freeeedoooommmm!Sorry to but in here :-)the uptime is under your own controlthe performance is fairly predictable - i.e. during the great twitter onboarding of 2022 large instances were DDOS'ed, small/single user instances remained happily connected.And the federated timeline is less scary

@paul @BazookachinKevin @jason123santa Yep the uptime and performance is under your control most of the time. Like everyone joining mastodon and then the instances being slow. My instance will never be slow and if it is then there is a problem.

@jason123santa @BazookachinKevin @jason123santa single user/small instances are a good example of what's beautiful on the #fediverse: you can run a server on decade old hardware in your own garage and still communicate EQUALLY with people on an instance catering for thousands of users on top of multi processor, mega-RAM, storage monsters
