Fellow creators. PP reached a new level of NSFW purge hell now, so be careful and double-check if you mention this service on your sites somewhere. Delete every reference to their services to reduce the risk of getting exposed to their crawlers that detect your content otherwise. These guidelines will become effective next month.Plus it is time to seriously think through different alternatives for worst cases in the near future. Stay rational about the situation, but also cautious.

@INSTALLGENTOO Way to find out and do some research, I say. Some people namedropped Wise as an alternative services with low fees and taxes. There is always a plus and minus to the alts, especially that they are less represented or used than big PP, naturally. Also SubscribeStar adult manages payments via direct bank connections and has way less nsfw content restrictions so far as fellows stated.

@Octoppoi I heard Stripe was good, but I haven't confirmed it myself. On a related note, Subscribestar is definitely a proven alternative to Patreon.

@gentai I'm absolutely not familiar with all kind of cryptos and will probably add much additional work to the research, I will look out for all the alts first that require only my regular bank account and that of my clients and hope they will go along, as soon as I choose one. I will keep PP intact in parallel, as long as there is no ban. This is just an early sign to get as many safety nets prepared as possible. It's a pain in the ass, but better now than ending up with nothing later.

@Octoppoi @NotGHR Subscribestar added to their TOS a whole page of prohibited content this year which includes anything obscene. While regular nsfw could pass, anything resembling loli/shota likely wouldn't. Especially because they're working directly with the banks, and that's the main problem.

@Octoppoi Just wait until they start implementing AI to try to determine who you are even without linking directly and/or by following link-trails and make sure you aren't being naughty! After all there's only 3 payment processors out there so we all have to remain pure to the tribunal.

@finr @NotGHR Thank you for the note. I took a deep look into that list, and I'm not entirely but relatively certain that the drawn images still goes ok on their site, since they explicitly state that the problematic pornographic imagery only refers to real life actor content. There is even a paragraph where they point out that animations are made with respective 3D or 2D programs without real life models involved. Some loli artists established themselves there for a while now. Finger crossed.

@LemmyNiscuit Sadly likely. The thing is, all those countermeasures against sensitive content were not made primarily out of care and good-faith for younger minor audiences, but first and foremost for business reasons. They want to stay in the featured recommendation lists of multiple app stores like apple or google (featured products generate more revenues and get highly benefitted by the store's company.) and to stay like this, they have to ensure a NSFW-free environment. Nothing more or less.

@Octoppoi Also the irony is their professing of trying to counteract fraud has already long started fragmentation of other apps that either cause it to happen more rampantly, or eradicate privacy entirely. The former of which they don't care about and the latter of which they want anyway. So...

@Octoppoi Now only if someone would get the IP addresses of those crawlers and publish them to block them at the server level. I'm looking into alternatives, even if it means setting up a payment provider meant for businesses. I'll develop some kind of easy mode solution for integration if I can get that far. I'd prefer to stay far away from shitcoins, especially considering commissioners generally don't use crypto.I despise subscription anything- so that's another hurdle, at least for me.

@Octoppoi @NotGHR While they cover CP with point 4 of the prohibited content page, it's point 2 that is problematic "Lewd, filthy, or disgusting words or pictures" (which addresses obscenity, which cannot be avoided/prevented because neither the user nor the site can define an obscene image, so the site usually plays it safe). With a vague TOS like that, even if the site doesn't enforce it on its own, an account could still be reported
