Anyone here know the difference between a HV diode of a 1000W microwave and a 2000W microwave? My understanding is that the 1000W units have a HVD rated at 12KV/350mA and the "newer" higher wattage units use the 12KV/450mA diodes. These rectifier diodes apparently have a significantly higher gate forward bias voltage of like 3-5VDV (opposed to the typical of 0.6VDC for Silicon and 0.2-0.3VDC for germanium) so a typical VOM test is inadequate w/o the setup of the typical 9VDC in series test.
