We recorded a Heterodorx interview today (will post it in a week or two) and our guest asserted very firmly that I am a butch lesbian. I found this highly amusing. The fact that I'm not a lesbian, and that I doubt any lesbian would call me butch, didn't faze him. Personally I would love to qualify as "butch," but I don't think anyone other than a trans-identified male who calls himself a "dyke" would bestow that honor upon me.

@ninapaley You necessarily MUST be a butch lesbian or his whole framework of reality crumbles. This is the whole purpose of their movement, to force the world to never allow feedback that fractures what they want reality to be and how they want to see it.

@ninapaley I have a friend who is straight who one day showed up with the old-fashioned butch look. She tried it without planning it. When I told her that she really rocks the look, she took it as a complement, and now dresses that way almost every time I see her.She's also an old like me, and doesn't give a rat's ass what others think of her.

@ninapaley My former partner worked with a nurse who called herself a butch lesbian, and apparently the only thing butch about her was that she had short hair. Never knew that qualified!
