Lots to do this weekend. Not a lot of time to do it all.I'd like to finish up the dog house. I built a frame but it needs some skin. It hasn't been a priority because I don't have much faith the dog will even go inside. We have space under the coop where she used to lie down, but for the past month she has avoided going under there. Not sure why... seems related to bad blood between her and Tom.I also want to try and build up the area in front of the coop so that rain doesn't pool up into marshy mud puddles. Hopefully I can contour it so that any excess rain finds its way into the pond

I am also setting up a new pump in the pond with a lot more horse power and some basic filtration built in, and I'm going to take the pump that's in the pond and put it in the fish stock pool which is going back in a new hangout spot in the way back of my yard where the garden is. I have a few feeders in there right now but I'm planning to fill the thing and stock it with fish to feed the ducks and turtle.And if there is time I'd like to get the turtle habitat moved back there as well. Eventually I'm going to build one filter that will clean both the turtle habitat and the fishes. Keeping the together makes since in the meantime.

The grand baby is also back from vacation so gotta get some time in with him and the family. Can't let that become the whole weekend though.

@thatguyoverthere A pond? Now you have my full attention...I've read that water runoff into a pond can pollute the water, killing the fish. It's why I made sure that the edges of my ponds were above ground level.

This is a duck pond more than a fish pond but I do hope to be able to hold fish in there one day. It's not particularly large. Deep enough for them to dive and play. I don't have any plants in there yet because they eat anything you can put in that isn't well established before they get to it. Eventually I want to block their access and try and get some things growing.I am going to be filtering the water and building a waterfall to help keep the water clean. The space between the pond and the coop is a bit of a depression with a lot of organic material. My plan is to dig a trench and build it up with a few logs and some sticks and stuff and then bury all of that. Most water will drain through that into the wood below but if we get enough rain to saturate all of the new space I want to add a little slope because this is a regularly traveled path for me and covering it with straw works for the birds but my weight always find the water underneath.This will hopefully also cut down on prime mosquito breeding grounds.

Oh and I need to rotate the compost. I'd like to build a new fence cage for it. The one I've been using is pretty old and has a hard lean I'd like to get rid of.

The baby was born about a month before the pandemic. I hope one day he can experience a "normal" world. He's a happy boy though. He really enjoys gardening activities... His favorite being looking for berries I think. Last year he enjoyed it but he would feed his findings to me, but this year he figured out they are tasty so I had to feed my findings to him lmao
