Which web browser do you use on #linux? I love #firefox, but it made my laptop really hot and then crashed (maybe not the first time)! I wonder what that's about.

@someodd I use #firefox on #ubuntu 22.04 and it never (as in 99.9% uptime) crashes

@jinxd nah... I think this is the second time that this has happened after being open a long time with many tabs and windows.

@someodd surf, with Firefox backup. Plain Webkit is pretty bad, but I can't do without the UI controls and customizations I've made to surf. I fire up Firefox when stability and compatibility are critical. vimb is a close second to surf. I wish there was a surf with chromium web view.

@someodd can't imagine using just one browser for the usual daily workflow

@someodd librewolf isn't any less hot than firefox, but it's better at disabling Mozilla's telemetry. Also installing "UBlock," "Decentraleyes" and "Privacy Badger," can reduce load on your computer, by avoiding connecting to all those marketing and tracking servers in the background. I mostly use my cheap low-end laptop for writing stories, very rarely use a web browser on it.
