       A large fraction of American society would take up arms against tyranny if pushed far enough. Tyrants massively underestimate this fraction and over estimate how far they can push. This means that the eventual failure of tyrants will be a little bumpy, but all out war is, in my view, extremely unlikely.

       @max_1337 lol, yup. If you think of it as a histogram, you’ve got wackos already taking up arms on the “low” side of tyranny and you’ll have soy boys offering their wives and daughters to government thugs and still not fighting on the “high” side. But, IMHO, the median is lower than tyrants think and the skew is negative.
