Have I ever mentioned my dad's off the chart paranoia around passwords? In a reverse of what seniors are usually like, my father refuses to use a password manager (he doesn't trust them) and instead writes these complex encryption codes on a business card he keeps in his wallet. And you have to know the key, which is also based on a personally invented code, in order to get to his passwords. When he dies I will NOT be able to access anything he's encrypted and I'm gonna be screwed.Oh, and he CHANGES THE CODES EVERY MONTHME: DAD PLEASE USE 1PASSWORDHIM: Nah, here's a business card with a 10 digit alpha code that is the first 2 initials of what I ate for lunch last Tuesday that forms the keywords for my new passwords.

@skadi @pixelpaperyarn i adapted numerous tricks my grandfather used in life into computer stuff successfully. like he used to use different middle name for everything he signed up for so when he got junk mail he knew who sold his name. basically use the same trick by using unique email for everything i sign up for

@skadi @pixelpaperyarn I'm doing it on fastmail now. After over about fifteen years I recently stopped hosting my own mail because of delivery issues.
