[1/2]#aviation #emergency #ppl As the video shows, it makes perfect sense, as it saves lives, to equip small aircraft with their own parachute.This is especially true for small aircraft used by private pilots! The pilot would not have survived the crash without the parachute, because as could be determined, he himself suffered a panic attack during the flight after the engine failed and became incapable of reacting in a coordinated and meaningful way.

[2/2]Without diminish private pilot training, I find that too little is invested in emergency management.In over 90% of all cases of around 1600 aircraft crashes per year that occur during flights by private pilots in the USA, the crash would not be fatal if the pilots had not lost control beforehand.Much video recordings from cockpits bear witness to how pilots cause a stall themselves, e.g. in the event of engine failure, through nonsensical reactions, and thus crash uncontrollably.

@pjcyto No, it is not a general standard, as far as I know.For small and ultra-light aircraft, it is part of the special equipment and should cost quite a bit.In the case of very high-quality small aircraft, e.g. from the renowned Italian manufacturer "Alpi Aviation", which are comparatively very expensive, something like this can be installed for a much lower surcharge or is offered as a purchase premium.

@pjcyto In the high-end, very luxurious helicopters I fly on VIP charters (AW139/169/189), there are "airbags" along the fuselage that prevent sinking in the event of a "crash" at sea or soften the impact over land.

@pjcyto For our VIP clients, the best protection is considered to be experienced pilots with former military training, as we have excellent and broad training also for emergencies.For example, a stall is a definite small matter for me, which I can handle even without propulsion.Even extreme spinning does not prevent me from orienting myself to intercept the spin.My maximum load capacity of up to 10.4 G for at least 30 seconds provides another element to the mastering

@pjcyto I also think it should be standard.It can save countless lives.Most private pilots are basically good pilots, but they simply can't do certain things because they would have to be trained over many years with a lot of time.

@pjcyto I did not fly with them as I was not trained for their type of formation flying.The suffix "PAN" in the name of the aircraft gives you a clue that these jets are also used for flying acrobatics, which I was trained to do, to be able to present aircraft.However, this was only a small part of my military activity.

You wouldn't be flying one of them without being one of their pilots.You know your stuff about planes, but I'm not buying that you're an ex-military pilot. The images and videos you're using are easy to dox. And they don't line up.
