@joshThere are a lot of SBCs available. Orange pi and banana pi are some readily available low cost Chinese SBCs. You can also go the route of used crap PC + gpio board depending on your use case.

@n3f_XIMO the low cost and availability make up for it. You can also always dispute if it doesn't work right, just always buy using a method that lets you reverse the charge in case the store acts shady. They're pretty well documented so unless you need it to just werk the compatibility stuff isn't a huge issue. But I see where you're coming from

If a company is acting in a way you disapprove of, you should distance yourself from them and look for alternatives, regardless of the specific reason you disapprove. Obviously there are limits but those will be subjective and based on the amount of effort a person is willing to put in to maintain their standards. From this perspective, it doesn't really matter whether your actions "do" anything to them, because they are no longer your problem (and you are no longer theirs)
