To do Phase III trials you’ll need to find enough people who a) are likely to be exposed to monkeypox, b) don’t already have natural immunity, c) don’t have vaccine immunity, and d) are willing to be part of a trial where the control arm gets you an effective vaccine, the experimental is unknown although likely to be effective.The pools of b and c are very rapidly decreasing, the pool of d strikes me as unlikely to get big especially the more the word gets out how painful monkeypox is. Over 10% of Western patients need hospitalization just for pain treatment.All that said it’s necessary that Moderna etc. try to develop a safe and effecitve vaccine (what’s the status of unraveling the heart and heart lining inflation side effects??). If this monkeypox outbreak results in a new strain better adapted to humans it’s not going to be fun. It’s theoretically possible but we hope very unlikely that such a strain would escape normal Orthopoxvirus cross resistance. We also know one upper bound for Orthopoxvirus lethality is 30%, smallpox really was a big deal after the 2nd Century when just that one disease would kill that many children, others often brought it up to 50%.The biggest advantages of mRNA vaccines is that they can be designed overnight if you have already done enough research (and Orthopoxvirus are the original that gave us the name “vaccines”, the COVID vaccines benefited from 18 years of SARS and MERS research) and don’t require delicate cell cultures to grow them, only the reliable workhorse E. Coli then it’s all chemical.In terms of manufacturing all the COVID vaccines that depended on cell culture manufacturing seriously disappointed in that. Although I’m not sure what Novavax’s just the stabilized spike protein problem was, they’re using the same technology Protein Sciences uses for Flublok which vaccine giant Sanofi Pasteur bought for $750 million. Which Walmart in the US for example buys, I’ve gotten two jabs of that for two flu seasons (I’m old).

Coli strains, so, no, you’re very very wrong.And live dangerously, wait too long and that standard antibiotic or perhaps any may be too late to save you. That said, except for sinus infections I haven’t needed any since I was a teenager I think.You are confused about how you get resistant strains: a) don’t take the full course of antibiotics or b) horizontal gene transfer. Clinically, start out with a resistant strain, requiring you to switch antibiotics.Which I should emphasize gives you personally even less of a margin if your body doesn’t throw it off. Also see rheumatic fever, you don’t take an antibiotic to clear strep throat, you take it to prevent it from getting a foothold elsewhere in your body.As I had to do once for my sinus infections, a penicillin to a cephalosporin, although they have the same “active ingredient” you might say.
